About The Run

Adani Ahmedabad Marathon | #Run4OurSoldiers

The Adani Ahmedabad Marathon, an initiative by the Adani Group, is an annual marathon event, sanctioned by the Athletics Federation of India (AFI).

Launched in 2017, the Adani Ahmedabad Marathon has emerged as one of the most anticipated runs in the country and completed its eighth edition in November 2024.

Since its inception, the theme for the event remains #Run4OurSoldiers, which is an endeavour to honour the spirit and sacrifice of India’s Armed Forces. In line with our guiding philosophy, #Run4OurSoldiers, the Adani Ahmedabad Marathon is more than just a sporting event—it’s a platform that brings together civilians and defence personnel in a shared expression of respect and solidarity. More than 3,000 defence personnel (Air Force, Army and Navy) participate in the run annually. A major portion of the registration proceeds goes to the welfare of the Indian Armed Forces.

It is the only run from Ahmedabad featured on the ‘Global Marathon Event List - AIMS World Running’, and has earned runners’ affection for offering one of the most picturesque routes in the world. The race categories include Marathon (42.195 KM), Half Marathon (21.097 KM), 10 KM Run and 5 KM Run. The marathon over the years, has seen increasing and consistent participation, making it one of the most popular races in the country.

Post-COVID-19 pandemic, the Adani Ahmedabad Marathon was the first to organize a physical event by devising time-slot-based systems that allowed over 8,000 runners to participate in the 2021 event over two days while adhering to the guidelines. In 2022, more than 12,000 runners participated in the on-ground event to make it an overwhelming success.

The course was revised in 2023, and for the first time ever, the #AhmedabadMarathon gave runners a chance to run along the picturesque the Sabarmati Riverfront. Since then, the marathon has seen an overwhelming participation of over 20,000 runners each year. The Adani Ahmedabad Marathon continues to inspire, uniting people from all walks of life in one common mission: to run for those who serve.
